What is bhakti yoga?

Not gymnastics or acrobatics, but a way of life based on respect, love, service and devotion. Bhakti is often referred to as the yoga of love or the path of devotion. These are practices that support the opening of the heart to help us live a life anchored in love.

Healing through sound and music

Healing concert with crystal bowls, cellular reprogramming, sacred chants and kirtan.

Sound healing is the process by which a practitioner uses music – including emotional, psychological, spiritual, physical, social, mental and superficial – to improve a patient’s health.

This healing therapy improves many facets of the patient’s life, including emotional and social development, cognitive and motor functioning, and psychological and psychiatric health.

Healing with sound occurs in many ways: patients listen or sing, improvise musical acts, meditate, sing and play musical instruments. Some practitioners subject patients to sounds specifically designed to induce positive brain waves.

What is sound healing or sonotherapy?

Sonotherapy can be defined as sound meditation, combining music and relaxation. It is based on the physical, psychic and emotional resonance of the body, in which the vibrations emitted by instruments and ambient sounds resonate. Its benefits are manifold, ranging from anxiety relief to strengthening the immune system.

Just as in meditation, yoga, walking in the forest or other activities, sound therapy is a tool that promotes relaxation and allows our cells to oxygenate, our heart rate to slow down and our mind to rest, restoring harmony within us.

Sound therapy works primarily on the principles of resonance frequency and entrainment (synchronization). When a rhythmic pattern is repeated for several minutes, it influences other organisms to follow suit (entrainment principle). The body can be “tuned” to a given frequency to rebalance it. What’s more, during sound baths, the frequencies emitted by the instruments lead us into a state of deep relaxation by slowing the brain waves from Beta to Theta or Alpha, a state in which the nervous system can switch to restoration mode (parasympathetic).

Ecstatic dance

Ecstatic dance is a free form of dance aimed at achieving ecstasy. It’s a natural state in which your consciousness shifts and you experience a meditative, blissful state of mind through body movement.

As well as being great fun to move your body freely, the benefits of ecstatic dance have also been scientifically proven to help your mental and physical health.

Essentially, this practice involves dancing as if no one were watching; dancing without the judgment of others and dancing without limits.

Although ecstatic dancing has become increasingly popular in recent years, it is by no means a contemporary activity. This form of dance has been practiced throughout human history and is known as a meditative activity that helps us cope with stress. How this beautiful dance can help us heal!
